Overview

Exostar's Secure Access Manager (SAM) consolidates registration, authentication, and account management.  This portal provides single sign-on capability to all of the Life Sciences and Healthcare applications and services hosted by Exostar as third-party, externally-hosted applications.

 Roles and Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

Organization Administrator (Org Admin): An organization level administrator who can create new accounts, process registration requests, manage existing accounts, and manage the organization details. Org Admins are also responsible for accepting the online Terms and Conditions Agreement.


Service Provider Administrator (SP Admin): An application level administrator who can grant approvals to users and organizations for application access, view users and application subscriptions, and view organizations and set organizational approval setting. The SP Admin is often referred to as the application owner.


Credential Administrator: An organization level administrator responsible for processing OTP Hardware credential requests for their organization. 


Management & Portal Administrator

The Management & Portal Administrator (MPA) role is similar to the Org Admin that provides the ability to manage users within multiple organizations that fall under an Onboarding Sponsor or tenant.

  • Ability to reset a user’s permanent password

  • Ability to view organization details

  • Ability to modify user details

  • Ability to suspend/restore account/application access


Exostar Portal Administrator

The Exostar Portal Administrator (EPA) role is an Exostar role with full administrative privileges. The EPA role has the following capabilities:

  • Ability to reset a user’s permanent password

  • Ability to view organization details

  • Ability to modify user details

  • Ability to suspend/restore account/application access
