Adoption Administrators complete these common tasks:
- Use the Adoption Module to invite partners to your organization's applications
- Issue invitations for companies and users with or without an existing Managed Access Gateway (MAG) account
- Issue invitations for companies without a known user
- Issue invitations that include sponsored credentials

Access the Adoption Module
To invite companies to access your partner applications secured in MAG, an employee within your company should be assigned the role of an Adoption Administrator. Contact Exostar to request access to the Adoption Module for this user. Once assigned the role, the Adoption Administrator has access to the Adoption Module. The module is available from the Adoption tab in your MAG account, and is used to invite external companies and internal users to access partner applications and services located within MAG.
Search MAG for Possible Matches
Before issuing a MAG invitation for an organization, search MAG to see whether the organization already exists in MAG. To run a search, follow the steps below:
Step 1. From the Adoption tab, click View Existing Invitations.
Step 2. Search our database to see whether the organization and user already exist in our system. Search first by the user’s e-mail address, and then by the name of the organization. If the user has an existing MAG account, you can search the database by the User ID. Pick the invitation scenario that fits your situation, and complete the steps.
Invite a New Org and New User
Invitations are valid for 30 days. Once they expire, you must issue a brand new invitation. Follow the steps below to invite a new user and new organization to MAG:
Step 1. If after the search a match is not found, scroll to the bottom of the page. Click Add Organization to complete the profile for the organization.
Step 2. Verify or enter organization details on the Invite Organization-Basic Information page, and click Next.
Step 3. The system generates a list of possible matches. Review the list, and if you do not see any matches, click Ignore Duplicate Matches and Request New Organization.
Step 4. From the Actions menu on the left, click Edit Organization Subscriptions. Select the application to which you are subscribing the organization. If you have a partner or vendor ID, enter it in the External Organization ID field, and click Save.
Step 5. From the Actions menu, click Invite New User. Complete profile details and select desired applications and credentials. Selecting a credential initiates an e-mail to the user with the invitation to complete a purchase. Enter the user's partner or vendor ID (if available) in the External User ID field. Enter an optional message for the user, and click Save.
Step 6. Click Add Another User to invite additional users. Otherwise, click Return to Organization Details, and click Submit Invitation.
After you submit the invitation, the user receives an email inviting them to register their organization for a MAG account. During the registration, the user is asked to assign the Organization and Application Administrator roles. After Exostar approves the organization registration, Organization and Application Administrators receive account activation email inviting them to access MAG.
Invite an Existing Org and a New User
If the organization exists in MAG, you must invite them to your applications. Follow the steps below to invite an existing organization and a new user:
Step 1. From the Adoption tab, click Search Organizations.
Step 2. After finding the matching organization, click the organization’s hyperlinked name.
NOTE: You can determine if the organization is subscribed to FIS Medium Level Hardware or EAG from the Organization Search view.
Step 3. Click Invite Organization from the Actions menu, and click Edit Organization Subscriptions. Select the application to which you are subscribing the organization. If you have a partner or vendor ID, enter it in the External Organization ID field, and click Save.
Step 4. From the Actions menu, click Invite New User. Complete profile details, and select desired applications and credentials. Selecting a credential initiates an e-mail to the user with the invitation to complete a purchase. Enter the user's partner or vendor ID (if available) in the External User ID field. Enter an optional message for the user, and click Save.
Step 5. Click Add Another User to invite additional users. Otherwise, click Return to Organization Details, and click Submit Invitation. The user receives the First Time Login email to access Exostar’s MAG.
Invite an Existing Org and an Existing User
Follow the steps below to invite an existing Exostar MAG user to an existing MAG organization:
Step 1. From the Adoption tab, click Begin New Invitation.
Step 2. Enter the user’s email address. Click Search.
Step 3. Review search results, and select the correct user and organization by clicking on the user's hyperlinked last name.
Step 4. From the Invitation Information section, select application(s).
Step 5. If the user requires an OTP product or proofing, select the appropriate options. Selecting a credential initiates an e-mail to the user with the invitation to complete a purchase. Enter the user's partner or vendor ID (if available) in the External User ID field. Enter an optional message for the user. Click Next.
Step 6. Click Save, and then click Submit.
The user is now subscribed to your applications. If the company is not currently subscribed to these applications, the user is automatically assigned the Application Administrator role for the applications. The new Application or Organization Administrator must accept Terms & Conditions before users within the organization can request access to the applications.
Invite an Existing Org without a User
Follow the steps below to invite an organization that already exists in MAG, but you do not have any user details:
Step 1. From the Adoption tab, click Begin New Invitation.
Step 2. Click Search Organizations.
Step 3. Click Search.
Step 4. After clicking Search, you may be presented with one or more company accounts. It is important to note if the MAG status for the company says Not Subscribed, you need to invite the company. Otherwise, select the organization you are subscribing to the applications.
Step 5. From the Actions field, click Invite Organization.
Step 6. Click Edit Organization Subscriptions, and select the applications you want this organization to access.
Step 7. The External Source Name is defaulted. If you have the option to select from the drop-down menu, select your organization's name. Click Save.
Step 8. You are taken back to the Organization Summary page. From the Actions field, click Submit Invitation.
The system assigns the Application and Organization Administrator roles to two existing users who most recently logged into MAG. The users receive email notifications that they were assigned these administrative roles.
Invitation Issuance for Sponsored Credentials
Follow the steps below to invite new or existing users, when credentials are sponsored by the partner buying organization:
Step 1. Ensure the User Profile Information section is complete. Scroll to the Invitation Information section to select the application you are subscribing the user to access.
Step 2. If sponsoring credentials, check Yes and select the credential type. If your organization has insufficient funds for sponsoring user credentials, you are notified to contact Exostar Sales to replenish funds.
Step 3. When ready to submit, click Save.
The user receives an email with the information their credential is sponsored. If you have set an expiration date for the credential, the user must complete registration before the expiration date.
