FP Defense Avoid Account Suspension

ForumPass Defense is now a service similar to FIS, where you don’t see an "Open Application" link from your MAG Dashboard. You must be subscribed to FP Defense in order to access Digital Rights Management Libraries. In order to access your DRM library, you will need to go to your ForumPass 7 - US site first, and then access your ForumPass Defense site where Digital Rights Management is enabled. 


To Avoid Account Suspension

In order for your ForumPass 7 Defense account to remain active you must sign in to your account to maintain your active status. If you receive an email notifying you that your account will be suspended due to inactivity, please follow the steps below to avoid account suspension. 

Step 1.  From your MAG login home page under your list of Applications, find ForumPass 7 US, then click Open Application.

Step 2.  Navigate to your Defense site, then view or download a Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected file.

         NOTE: If you do not have any files uploaded, you will need to upload a file first then view or download that file. Please see the section below to upload a file. 

Step 3.  Once you view or download a DRM protected file, your ForumPass Defense account status will be updated and remain active.



 How to Upload Files

Upload

Step 1.  From the Files toolbar ribbon, click the Upload Document icon.

Step 2.  Click Browse and navigate to the file you want to upload.

Step 3.  Choose a destination folder or leave the field blank. The file uploads to your current location.

Step 4.  If required add version comments.

Step 5.  Click OK.

NOTE: The library automatically refreshes, displaying the document.


Desktop Integration

ForumPass supports the creation of documents using desktop integration with the server via the New Document command on the Files toolbar ribbon. Users are not required to first create and store documents locally. You can create and store items directly on ForumPass servers.

To create a new document directly in ForumPass:

Step 1.  From the Files toolbar ribbon, click the New Document icon. The MS Office application associated with the library opens by default.

Step 2.  Create the file and click Save.

Step 3.  The file is saved directly to the ForumPass library.


Drag and Drop

Use the drag and drop functionality to add multiple documents at one time directly from your computer.

Step 1.  Open the desired library in ForumPass.

Step 2.  Locate the files you want to upload from your local drive. Drag them to the space in the library where it says Drop Here.

NOTE: You cannot drag and drop folders or drop documents into Encrypted document libraries.


Upload File Structure

Use to add multiple documents at one time in a zipped format.

Step 1.  Create a file structure on your local drive. This includes zipped or compressed files.

Step 2.  From the Files toolbar ribbon, click the Upload File Structure icon.

Step 3.  Click Browse and navigate to the compressed/zipped folder you want to upload.

Step 4.  You may choose a destination folder, or leave the field blank. The file uploads to your current location.

Step 5.  Click OK.

NOTE: The library automatically refreshes, displaying the folder.
